This workshop focuses on participants' varying identities, perspectives, and social backgrounds in the space. Building Common Ground is an intentional activity and dialogue that allow participants to share about themselves, discover commonalities with others, and learn more about differences among the group. Through this workshop, participants will explore and reflect on their own personal and social identities to find common ground with others and gain a deeper understanding of the diversity among the members of Caltech community and reflect on the importance of inclusion.
Learning Outcomes:
Identify examples of personal bias and how it can impact our interactions with others
Describe what an inclusive community is at Caltech
This workshop is designed for large groups (50+). For smaller groups, Exploring Social Identity is recommended.
